Master the three great integral laws — Gauss's (electric), Gauss's (magnetic), Faraday's, and Ampere's — as a unified toolkit. Each requires: (1) identify symmetry, (2) choose the right surface or path, (3) simplify the integral, (4) solve. Practice this script until it's automatic.

Calculus is your most powerful tool — use it. Graders give explicit points for setting up the integral (not just the result). Write ∮E·dA, expand it, and simplify step by step. A wrong answer that shows correct calculus setup earns partial credit; a correct answer with no work earns zero.

The FRQ section is 45 minutes for 3 problems — exactly 15 minutes each. Time-box strictly. Part (a) of each FRQ is worth the most — never skip it. If you're stuck on part (c), move on and come back; a partial part (a) answer on a fresh problem beats zero on a finished stuck problem.

Learn to move fluidly between E-field, potential V, and energy U. E = -dV/dr (gradient), V = -∫E·dr (integral), U = qV. Every Electrostatics FRQ tests this chain in at least two parts. Master each direction of the chain with practice.

Lenz's law is one of the most-tested conceptual points. Practice describing it in precise words: 'The induced current creates a magnetic field that opposes the change in flux that caused it.' Then always draw the B-field of the induced current and verify it opposes the change. This earns the direction point.

Know your fundamental constants cold: ε₀ = 8.85×10⁻¹² C²/(N·m²), μ₀ = 4π×10⁻⁷ T·m/A, k = 1/(4πε₀) = 8.99×10⁹ N·m²/C². The AP formula sheet provides these — but knowing what they mean and when to use ε₀ vs. k is essential. Practice problems both ways.

AP Physics C: E&M FRQs demand full calculus derivations — setting up the integral correctly is often worth as many points as the final answer.

Phase 1: Electrostatics and Capacitors — Building the Foundation

• Master Coulomb's law and superposition (vector addition of E fields — draw diagrams)
• Learn Gauss's Law for 3 symmetries: spherical (point/sphere), cylindrical (wire/cylinder), planar (sheet)
• Practice electric potential: V = kq/r, V from superposition, E = -dV/dr in 1D
• FRQ practice: one Gauss's Law derivation FRQ per week (timed: 15 min)

Phase 2: Circuits — Kirchhoff, RC, and Power

• Master KCL and KVL for multi-loop circuits — practice 3 problems per session
• Derive RC circuit differential equation from scratch each day — don't memorize, understand
• Learn capacitor energy (U = ½CV²) and RC time constant deeply: what does τ mean physically?
• FRQ practice: one RC circuit FRQ per week; sketch q(t), i(t), and V(t) graphs

Phase 3: Magnetic Fields and Induction — Calculus-Heavy Units

• Biot-Savart Law: practice straight wire, circular loop, and solenoid integrals step by step
• Ampere's Law: apply to wire, solenoid, and toroid — know when each symmetry applies
• Faraday's Law: practice 5 types of flux change (moving conductor, changing B, changing area, rotating loop)
• Write 2 Faraday's Law FRQs per week — always include Lenz's law direction justification

Phase 4: Full Exam Simulation and FRQ Mastery

• Two full timed practice exams (45 min MC + 45 min FRQ) per week — simulate real exam conditions
