Contact Admissions →The VR School accepts students in grades K-12 from anywhere in the world. We offer full-time enrollment, part-time enrollment, and individual course access. Families homeschooling their children, students in traditional schools looking to supplement their education, and fully independent learners are all welcome.
The quickest path is to reach out to our admissions team via the Contact page. We'll have a conversation about your goals, confirm the tuition and financial aid options available to you, and set a start date that works. There's no pressure and no commitment until you're ready.
We enroll students on a rolling basis — you don't have to wait for a traditional school year to begin. Once you've completed the admissions conversation and confirmed enrollment, you can typically begin within two weeks.
Both are available. You can enroll course-by-course to supplement an existing education, or enroll full-time and receive a WASC-accredited transcript and diploma from The VR School. The admissions team will help you choose the option that makes the most sense for your situation.
Yes. The VR School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the same accrediting body that certifies Stanford University and the University of California system. Our credits and diploma are recognized by colleges, universities, and employers.
Yes — we offer 370+ UC A-G approved courses, which means our coursework satisfies the subject requirements for admission to the University of California and California State University systems. These courses are recognized by colleges and universities nationwide.
Yes. Our WASC accreditation is nationally and internationally recognized. Students have used VR School transcripts to apply to four-year universities, community colleges, and competitive degree programs. If you have a specific institution in mind, our admissions team can confirm compatibility.
No — a VR headset is not required. Our Marble worlds (built on World Labs technology) are accessible through standard web browsers on a computer, tablet, or phone. A headset enhances the experience significantly, and we offer a hardware stipend for qualifying students, but it is never a prerequisite for enrollment.
Marble is a spatial computing platform built by World Labs, the company founded by Dr. Fei-Fei Li and her colleagues. It renders photorealistic 3D environments using Gaussian Splatting — a technique that captures real-world locations at a fidelity previously impossible in real-time. The VR School integrates six Marble worlds directly into our curriculum.
Any device with a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge) and a stable internet connection will work. For immersive Marble world experiences, a computer with a dedicated GPU provides the best performance. Our team can help you evaluate whether your current setup is sufficient.
Yes. The VR School offers need-based financial assistance, merit scholarships, payment plans, and corporate-sponsored scholarship pathways through our endowment and partner programs. Nobody who belongs here should be turned away because of cost. Tell us your situation and we'll find a path.
Financial aid is discussed during your admissions conversation — there's no separate application process. Reach out to our admissions team, share what you're working with, and we'll be direct about what's available and what fits your needs.
We offer a selection of free introductory courses for prospective students, including access to our School of AI foundations course. These give you a real sense of the learning experience before you commit to enrollment.
We offer 370+ UC A-G approved courses across all six subject areas: History (A), English (B), Mathematics (C), Science (D), World Languages (E), and Visual/Performing Arts (F). We also have an extensive Electives (G) catalog including our School of AI program.
The School of AI is our flagship AI literacy and development program, designed for students at every level — from curious beginners to aspiring machine learning engineers. Yes. SofAI is designed specifically for K-12 learners, with age-appropriate guardrails and content filters built in. It does not engage in open-ended conversation outside of educational topics, and parents can review interaction histories through the family dashboard.
